Speaker: Lud Kiramidjian Date: 4/6/23 The Book of Exodus records that ancient Israel was delivered from Egyptian slavery by a series of spectacular miracles. Exodus chapters 7 through 12 describe ten spectacular plagues that were visited upon the nation of Egypt in preparation for one more miracle (actually a cluster of interrelated miracles) that is so spectacular and astounding that it set apart Israel’s God from all other deities and religions. It was the climaxing miracle associated with ancient Israel’s crossing of the Red Sea as described in Exodus 14 (the importance of which is emphasized by it being referenced in more than 20 other places in the Bible). The Red Sea Crossing was not a myth. It was a literal historical event. The goal of this message is threefold: (1) To describe ancient physical Israel’s spectacular miraculous crossing of the Red Sea that is recorded in Exodus chapter 14; (2) To explain that this “first Exodus” Red Sea crossing was an anti-type of an even more spectacular future “second Exodus” migration of physical Israel to freedom that is prophesied to occur at Christ’s return at the close of this age; and (3) To explain that both the first Exodus Red Sea Crossing and a yet-to-come second Exodus migration out of slavery are anti-types of the amazing Exodus that we in the Church (the spiritual “Israel of God” of Galatians 6) are now experiencing in our lives --- and will continue to experience until our final “crossing of the Red Sea” into the promised land of the Kingdom of God.
