For the past week we have been eating Unleavened products because we understand that the Passover and Days of Unleavening are powerful reminders for us of spiritual principles.   OT Passover = unleavened bread pictured the fact that ancient Israel left Egypt in haste. In a similar way when we recognize sin in our lives we should remove it or discard it at once. NT Passover = unleavened bread pictures the broken body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His body was beaten and He was crucified for our complete healing. Because He is our Great High Priest we can now go directly to the Father and plead that our physical illnesses be healed. We can go to Him and request that our emotional hurts and offences are healed. Most importantly… we can go to Him and ask that our sins are healed. Days of UB = Eating the unleavened bread pictures the righteousness of Christ living and being demonstrated in us. Simply removing sin from our lives and leaving a void isn’t enough. We must replace weakness with strength or something undesirable will fill the void. Now that the Feast for 2012 is ending… what lessons about the symbol of bread can we continue to take with us in our daily lives? Let’s review some spiritual aspects of bread that should remain with us throughout the year. We can begin with the sample prayer that Jesus taught His disciples. This sermon was given for the 7th Day of Unleavened Bread.
