Many people believe Peter was the first pope of the Catholic Church, and was the head of the apostles. A number of Church of God organizations believe Church government is required to have one man at the top. What did Christ really say in Matthew 16:18-19? Jim serves as an elder in the Big Sandy (East Texas), Texarkana, TX, and Ruston, LA congregations. He and his wife Laurel also enjoy traveling and visiting other UCG congregations. He attended Ambassador College in Big Sandy, Texas from 1990 – 1994 and currently works in the IT department of a local hospital. He enjoys watching and playing sports, and loves working with children.
