The promises of salvation and eternal life were so real to the faithful people of old that they were able to have an unwavering hope, knowing that He who promised is faithful, and that the day would come when they would be raised from their graves and enter into the city that has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. We who are alive and remain can rejoice in these same promises, looking forward in faith, with full assurance of hope, to the time when the Messiah will come in great power and glory and establish the everlasting kingdom of God on this earth.
