In the Bible, Christians are referred to as “slaves” more than any other term. What are the implications of that? In this concluding sermon of a three-part series on what it means to be slaves to God, we examine five attributes of a faithful slave and how they apply to each of us today. Along the way we look at our ultimate example of what it means to be a slave, the contrast between rulers of the first century and how Jesus Christ said His followers would be different, and some stern warnings from Him about those who fail to carry out His instructions as His faithful slaves.

Scott Ashley is managing editor of Beyond Today magazine, United Church of God booklets and its printed Bible Study Course. He and his wife, Connie, live near Denver, Colorado. 
Mr. Ashley attended Ambassador College in Big Sandy, Texas, graduating in 1976 with a theology major and minors in journalism and speech. It was there that he first became interested in publishing, an industry in which he has worked for 50 years.
