In these series of Galatians, you state that justification was the issue with the Galatians. But is there not a difference between "been justified", and the expression "made righteous"? The English word "justified" refers to having our past guilt removed". We are justified by faith in the sacrifice of Christ. The English expression "made righteous" refers to future conduct. It has nothing to do with removing past guilt. We are made righteous by the faith of Christ. Paul asked them: This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? He states that they began with the spiritual, so they would have had to be justified to be given the spirit. I believe the issue with the Galatians was after justification, they turn to the works of the law for the "walk in newness of life", same as been made righteous, and that would not work for them, because that is not in line with the true gospel of God. Thank you, Neale
