In our continuing series of studies on the Gospels, we see that Bible prophecy foretold that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would appear and conduct His ministry in Galilee. But after being rejected at Nazareth, why did Jesus choose to center His ministry at Capernaum? Why Capernaum, out of all the cities and towns in Galilee? The answer becomes evident when we look at the cultural background and religious practices of other areas of Galilee and realize why Capernaum offered a major advantage. We also examine why another movement that started in this region had profound consequences that still affect our world 2,000 years later.
