The Omer, the Wave Sheaf Offering presented in ancient Israel during the Days of Unleavened Bread, was an amazing ceremony through which the awesome Plan of God was portrayed. Leviticus 23:10-11 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap it harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. He shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.’” The Wave Sheaf offering was to be given during the Days of Unleavened Bread. Specifically, it was the day after the weekly Sabbath that occurred during the Feast of Unleavened Bread – so it was done on a Sunday morning. How does this passage in Leviticus 23 relate to God’s Plan of Salvation, and how does it involve you and me in a special way today?
