“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17 John 3:17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
American King James Version×
). John 3:34 John 3:34For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure to him.
American King James Version×
adds, “For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God.”

Jesus said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34 John 4:34Jesus said to them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
American King James Version×
; compare John 5:30 John 5:30I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.
American King James Version×
).

But where did Christ come from? The book of John also makes this abundantly clear: “No one has ascended to heaven but He [ Christ ] who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who [since His ascension] is in heaven” (John 3:13 John 3:13And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
American King James Version×
). Jesus further said, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38 John 6:38For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
American King James Version×
). And He also told people of His day: “You are from beneath [the earth]; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world” (John 8:23 John 8:23And he said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this world.
American King James Version×
).

Jesus explicitly stated: “I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father” (John 16:28 John 16:28I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
American King James Version×
). Thus, Jesus was sent from the Father and returned to Him, where both now exist together in glory and majesty (John 17:5 John 17:5And now, O Father, glorify you me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

; Hebrews 8:1 Hebrews 8:1Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

; Hebrews 12:2 Hebrews 12:2Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
