The Bible speaks of signs. Jesus was asked for the sign of His coming and the end of the age (Matthew 24:3 Matthew 24:3And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?

Earlier, the Jews tempted Jesus in asking Him for a sign from heaven (Matthew 16:3 Matthew 16:3And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O you hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky; but can you not discern the signs of the times?

On July 22, 2011, Anders Behring Breivik, a lone extremist, exploded a bomb in Oslo, Norway, and then massacred others on the tiny island of Utoya. These twin attacks together took 77 lives.
These terrible acts show a sign of our times. Over the past few decades we have witnessed many extremist and terrorist bombings, the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., being the most memorable and most horrifying. Your Bible says that the end times will be very dangerous (2 Timothy 3:1 2 Timothy 3:1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

There’s a source behind these violent acts. Jesus Christ said the devil was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44 John 8:44You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stayed not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

American King James Version×; Revelation 12:9 Revelation 12:9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
American King James Version×). Christ said that Satan will unleash his pent-up wrath against human beings immediately before and during the Great Tribulation (Revelation 12:12 Revelation 12:12Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.
American King James Version×; Matthew 24:21-22 Matthew 24:21-22 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
American King James Version×). That time begins the countdown toward the end of his rule on earth, concluding with the Messiah’s return.
