The Bible talks about 'turning the other cheek', etc. but what if 'turning the other cheek' only ENABLES a person to continue hurting themselves and you? In this case, emotional manipulation and narcissism? What is doing good? Is 'good' always what we think it is? Is 'good' always being a doormat?
