In a way, Christians are like inventors, continually seeking improvements and striving toward perfection in our Christian lives and character. Like inventors, we encounter many stumbling blocks along the way, and we learn that changes in our lives can take many years.

In 1896 a woman by the name of Helga Estby and her young daughter Clara began a 7-month cross-country walk from Spokane, Washington to New York City in the hopes of claiming a large cash award if they were able to complete the trip by a specified date.

When we ask God for help, we are often not given a strong YES or a strong NO, and in those times we need to stay especially close to God to recognize that He will provide the help we need. God’s help IS on its way, but will we recognize it when it comes?

If you watch the evening news there are a number of sad things happening around us. God knows all of the people of the world. He knows their hopes and plans and there will come a time when everyone will be able to take steps to follow Him. There are no "other people" with God.

Most of the individuals who have ever lived on earth are unknown to us. In our minds, they are just “other people”. But there are no “other people” with God. He knows and loves them all and will work with them in His own way and His own time.
