You are correct in that the majority will take the wide gate, and that the elect, who enter by the narrow gate, are certainly in the minority! Regarding the comparison of eagles to God's faithful people, and the body referring to the Body of Christ, it may help to understand how Job 39:27-30 makes a similar comment. It refers to the eagle as dwelling on the rock, and "where the slain are (is), there it (the eagle) is". It is because of the fact that Christ was slain that eternal life is possible. As Christ founded the Church, it is often referred to as the Body of Christ. Isa. 40:31 also draws a comparison between eagles and God's elect.
