Thank you Amber for this timely article! When we do all for the glory of God and take "ourselves" out of the picture then we are so blessed and fulfilled. We are prompted in this society to think only of self and it brings only sorry and death to us spiritually. I also loved how you encouraged the body to work together because it joins and knits us together and the response to unity is growth of the body and love toward all. Thank you again!

Thank you for this excellent article! We look forward to the Kingdom of God and the change in man's heart to want to fully surrender to God's will and purposes. This world is spiraling downward quickly. May His Kingdom come!

Thank you Debra for your comments! They were much appreciated! One thing my pastor always says is that God loves your children more than you and He wants them in His family. You and He offers encouragement to all families out there!!!

Thank you for this sermon. It made me think back to my parents and their lives. My father was a WW2 veteran who was in a prisoner of war camp in Germany. He received 3 bronze stars during the war. I did not know that he received them until after his death. During his life, he never mentioned them. He was a humble man who was protective of us and didn't want us to know what he experienced during the war. As a teenager he didn't want me to read the Diary of Anne Frank. He didn't want me to know the horrors of war. His experience did impact the dynamics of our family and his relationship with my mother. Thank you for this sermon. It makes us look forward to God's Kingdom. There is good news in the midst of plague. We continue to pray God makes a difference between those who love and obey His command. We also pray for the world's repentance--so much suffering. Our prayers are with you & Beverly and everyone doing this work! God bless!

I had just started reading Jeremiah when the Coronavirus was raising its ugly head in Kentucky. It gave me comfort that God would make a difference between those who listened and obeyed and those who didn't. Ebed-melech, a Cushite court official employed in the king's palace, heard about Jeremiah being placed in a cistern. He told King Zedikiah what the officials in the city had done to Jeremiah and how desperate his situation was. It took real courage for him to oppose those who were determined to stop Jeremiah's proclamations and ask the king if he could deliver him from the cistern. The king gave him permission and let him use 30 men to assist getting Jeremiah out. Jeremiah 38:7-13. Later in Jeremiah 39:15-18 we see that God told Jeremiah to tell Ebed-melech that, "I am about to fulfill My words against this city. They will take place before your very eyes on that day. But I will rescue you on that day...and you will not be handed over to the men you fear. Indeed I will certainly deliver you so that you do not fall by the sword. Because you have trusted in Me, you will keep your life like the spoils of war.".... The kings died. The Cushite was saved.

Forgiveness is powerful! I had such a wonderful example of my Aunt Thelma. Her oldest daughter was killed by her husband, very brutally. My aunt forgave him and would visit him in prison. She raised her four grandchildren also. I am sure Mr. Brand's life is going to be blessed for having such a forgiving attitude. My Aunt Thelma's life was because of forgiving. Thanks for a wonderful article Janet!

Thank you for the insight into what the people of Africa have experienced during the 52-year period of war. This generation cannot fathom a war fought on our home front. Thank you Mrs. Botha for giving us details of what your family encountered during that time. We appreciate all of the comments!
