Hi Susan
Good afternoon. Yes indeed the word sacrifice is in italics in Dan 12:11, as is the case, for instance in Dan 11:31, and they are not in the original Hebrew.
How it was decided by the translators to add "sacrifices" I do not know. As during the time of Antiochus Epiphanes that is what happened, the translators may have added that word based on the historical situation.
HI Liz, Good evening. I am grateful that the message is coming across the way I intended - to make us more aware of our common Adversary. We are all equally threatened... and I need to personally remind myself of it all the time.
You be safe and keep on the look out.
May God's grace and peace be with you. - Jorge
Hi Mary Jaye. Thank you for your kind comment. I thank God that He lead me and inspired me to do this sermon, as I can sincerely say this was because God led me to do so. Under normal circumstances I would have not approached this subject. He really led me. Please thank God for He leading us in His wonderful ways and Truth. In Christian love, Jorge
Hi Mary Beth,
Thank you for your note and suggestion.
I went through all the sermons related to the series on the book of Matthew and I added "Matthew" and the chapter number as you suggested.
Therefore if you search for my sermons with the title 'Matthew' you will now find them.
Have a lovely week.
Jorge
Hi Clive.
Thanks for your question. Indeed those who have been with us but have lost their commitment is very sad to us. We all deeply sorrow, feel the pain, and sincerely pray for them to repent.
We just do not know for sure that their conversion was real. We don't know their hearts. So it is possible that some Church members (according to the flesh) were not really Church members (part of the true Spiritual Body of Christ).
It gives us peace of mind to know that God is a righteous judge and that He does not judge according to the flesh (John 8:15-16).
But that by no means justifies one that loses the commitment, nor does it imply that there is a second chance (Heb. 10:26-31). It is God who knows if they were enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, and received God's Holy Spirit (Heb 6:4-6).
I hope that answers your question. If you would like to discuss it further, please email me privately. Happy to chat to you at any time.
In Christian love
Jorge
Hi Stephen. Thank you so much for the constructive points you mentioned. Indeed I should have made it clearer that 'out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks' (May 12:34) and that 'that' sin likewise proceeds from something deeper and ingrained. That is why they wanted to destroy Christ. That came from their intent, their heart. I will surely take that into consideration. Have a great Feast. In Christian love, Jorge de Campos
