Thank you Steve Myers for a brilliant presentation, no matter how much study one does there is always something new one can learn, though my margins barely leave any room for further notations; the book of Joel gives much more detail to the events depicted in Revelation, and shows how intricately connected are the various books in the Word of God.

I've been told that Jonah in Hebrew means Dove; also that one of the idols of the people of Ninevah was a fish; so that if the people of Ninevah witnessed Jonah being spit out of a fish onto their shores, they would have been more receptive to the warning Jonah gave them. It was not that they just believed the warning from God, but they believed it because it was a warning that issued from the mouth of one of their idols. This also makes more understandable why they then turned back to their idols after the calamity did not fall upon them. It's also interesting that Jonah did not thank God for the plant that gave him shade; and that having failed to give God thanks, God had a worm infest the plant. It is important to give God thanks for His blessings. If we don't, should we complain when these blessings are taken away?
