Hi MeeMee Craig,
There are definitely situations that exist where it would either be unsafe and unwise to enter. In my sermon, I certainly was not talking about putting ourselves in unsafe/unwise situations (physically or spiritually) and discernment and God's Spirit is necessary at times. The sermon was about identifying people that we had difficulty loving, even though they may be caught up in Satan's evil system and world that he rules. Someone could have a "wicken" coworker that they may need to love as a person. That wouldn't mean they would want to have anything to do with their false religious beliefs, etc... Please reach out to me at troy_phelps@ucg.org if you would like to discuss in more detail.

You are correct to assume that the worship of the beast must involve religion.
The beast of Revelation 13 describes the coming together of a wide spread system that entangles everything--religion, commerce and culture. One of these beasts represents a strong governmental force that causes the world to worship a false religion (Revelation 13:12) and together they join forces to build an immoral worldwide system of commerce (Revelation 18:9-11) that requires embracing ungodly beliefs in order to be able to participate in their Satan backed system (Revelation 13:16-18).
To more fully dive in to the historical biblical background of this final combined beast power, I would encourage you to read the following article:
