I am a member of UCG and I am most disappointed by your attempt to twist the meaning and purpose behind the struggles to erase generations of bigotry and hatred towards those who are different from you. The real purpose of BLM is to stem the tide of those in authority murdering unarmed citizens. I had not heard the term "family privilege" prior to this, but this seems to imply what we all know. If you are born into a white, middle class family you have endless privilege compared to a child born in Syria or Rwanda. Neither child did anything to earn their status. You are not the one under attack.

Regarding "Growing Culture War" of course the reason is Satan and his influence on the minds and actions of all men.I am a member of the Church of God and I know that if someone had a critique of us we would respond with another perspective. I have another perspective on this article. We should not eliminate any of the good things America has done, neither should we ignore the terrible things when those remnants still exist. Until they have been eliminated, discussion is warranted. Statues of men,no matter how many good things they might have done,is no reason to glorify their image. Not any man. Certainly if in any way they have perpetuated a system of cruelty and brutality towards any other men a statue should not be proudly erected. The greatest men,in my opinion does not deserve the glory of a statue.America began with a spiritual emphasis which has greatly diminished, many years ago and still persists. No need to ignore these sins until all vestiges of them cease. All nations are spiritually lacking . We should repent of the sin of bias. Please leave one sided racial and political views out of Beyond Today. In love, Vince Braddock, Cincinnati congregation.
