[Steve Myers] I bought a fan the other day, and it wasn't exactly the most expensive. I got the fan home, opened the box, and inside the box were instructions that said "Assembly Required." Now, I'm not necessarily the most handy person in the world, and I had to try to figure out how to put this fan together. And since it wasn't the most expensive one, it was a little bit tricky. But I realized in order to make that thing work properly I was going to have to put it together and assemble that thing.
And as I thought about that example of assembly required, I couldn't help but think of what God tells us about getting together. God's people are told that they're required to assemble. God tells us very clearly that assembly is required. There's an amazing passage in Hebrews 10:25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
See All... and here's what it says, it says, "Do not forsake assembling yourselves together as is the manner of some."
You know if we claim to be a part of the church, God's called out people, we're called out of this world and we're told to assemble together. Check out your Bible. You want to go all the way back to Leviticus 23, it tells us back then there is a time that God requires us - He just doesn't say this would be a nice idea - but He says you are required to assemble together.
So, if that fan was going to work properly for me, I had to put that thing together. I had to assemble it. It was required.
You know, if we're going to be put together properly, if we're going to have a right relationship with God, if we're going to have a right relationship with other brethren, other people of God, assembly is required. So, do that. Do the work. Make sure we come together as God says because assembly is required.
That's BT Daily . We'll see you next time.
God requires his people to assemble together. Does that mean every week? Or does that mean whenever the church has an assembly? Some people have to travel many miles and spend hours of travel to get to church. Some people do not have the health or the means to endure this.
I hope that God's church would think about a weekly internet church service worldwide. It may be already available in some areas, but it is not clear when and how to hook up to it.
God's small flock is scattered. At least through the modern technology and internet, we could conceivably have a way to fulfill God's commandment to assemble together, not in person, but in spirit.

I had an awesome church in the 90's but people didn't want to walk the walk, so the doors finally closed. I visied many churchs, not preaching at my level or above. Found one where the people greeted me when I had one foot out the car. I'm on disability, and feel bad so much I don't go anywhere unless I must. I love praise & worship & miss it so. The last church, the pastor was more of a comic, he preached from other pastors books. Like most pastors, he didn't preach what he's suppose to. I called it, job security. I study at home. I have learned so much & become closer to Jesus than ever. I have wondered about attending church? Will Jesus hold this against me? There is so much here & I read Charles Stanleys monthly book that has really opened my eyes to the word. I witness to anyone I can when I'm out. I asked Jesus to use me, he took me up on it asap. The stories are racking up.
