When difficulty and challenges face us it's important to remember what we've been promised.

[Steve Myers] We all have our concerns. If we had to make a list, it would probably be endless. We could start with the greater concerns of the world that we live in, the challenges that governments face, the difficulties, the wars, the famines, the challenges all around the world. Certainly those would probably be among the concerns that we have. But if we bring that closer to home, don't we have our personal trials, the personal difficulties that we deal with? And sometimes that can seem to almost overwhelm us.

So where do you turn?

There's an interesting passage that's in the Psalms. Oftentimes when you turn to the Psalms you can get a perspective on the challenges and the concerns that we face every day in our life. And that's because King David wrote many of the Psalms and he was faced with so many challenges as he ran and tried to flee from Saul, who was trying to kill him. And this particular Psalm that I had thought of today is Psalms 138.

And in Psalms 138 in verse 8 it says something that should help us all to deal with the concerns that we face in our personal lives. It says this, "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me" (Psalms 138:8). Now what are you concerned about? What are the challenges? What are the trials that you face that seem sometimes to maybe want to overwhelm you?

Well this particular verse is a great reminder that God's on our side. God is concerned about us. The concerns that we have, it says God will take care of those things. God will watch out for our interests. He promises that through trouble, through trials, through difficulties He promises to be with us. And you know what? We have a God who keeps His promises.

So as you think about the concerns in your life, remember who's watching out for your best interest. Remember God keeps His promise. So let's focus on Him and realize He's the One that will watch over us and perfect us because He has our concerns at heart.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
