[Steve Myers] On each Beyond Today television program, we offer a free subscription to the Good News magazine. It's the United Church of God's flagship publication. It's a magazine that helps you understand what's going on in the world, and there's going to be some changes in the magazine that are coming up. So, today we're taking with managing editor Scott Ashley about what's going on with the magazine. What are some of the changes that we're going to be seeing with the Good News?

[Scott Ashley] Well, Steve, we're excited to make the Good News bigger and better than it ever has been before. We're adding 50 percent more pages to it, which means we'll be able to cover a lot of additional topics, more than we were before, as well as cover those topics more in-depth. So we're really excited about that. As an example, our next issue is talking about the religion of Islam. And Islam plays a major role in the world today. There's an awful lot…we read and hear a lot about it in the news. But why? Why is it in the news so much?

[Steve Myers] So it's taking world events and helping people to understand them at a level that becomes much clearer.

[Scott Ashley] True, true. That's, yes, we are, as you mentioned earlier, a magazine of understanding and that's what we try to do, is explain what is going on in the world. But more importantly why, particularly from a biblical perspective and even more so a perspective of what Bible prophecy reveals as to why the world is in the condition that it's in, why things are taking place that way. So, we're really excited about this. We're adding other sections too about what it means to truly be a follower of Jesus Christ and also adding a mini Bible study in each issue so people can dig into their Bible and really understand it. It's a magazine of understanding of both the Bible as well as life itself and what's going on in the world.

[Steve Myers] So, we see this is something practical for you. Something that would be really helpful to you. If you don't have a subscription for the Good News, be sure to click on the website here and check it out. Order that free subscription. It will really help you as you get closer to God and begin to understand the world around you. So, I guess, maybe, most importantly for people, why did this have to happen? Why do you the format of the magazine and the content had to be upgraded?

[Scott Ashley] Well, we're always trying to help our readers. Help them, again, to understand the Bible better. To build and develop their relationship with God, with our Creator. It's very important. That's what we're trying to do, as well as, I mentioned early, helping people understand what is going on in the world and what life itself is all about, just as we cover in the Beyond Today programs.

[Steve Myers] So, order your free subscription to the Good News magazine. It will help you as you watch the Beyond Today television program and certainly help you understand your world around you and begin to make changes in your life so that you can be closer to God and really develop a relationship with Him and make life that much better.
