[Steve Myers] It's a beautiful spring day here in the United States and it's time for March Madness. Of course, March Madness is the NCAA championship basketball tournament where teams from all over the country vie to see who will become the new champion. It's an exciting time. It's a time when college students just start to go crazy with fever for just the opportunity to see who's going to be the next champion. And of course fans get into it. The fanatics come out and they're so excited about all the possibilities. Even those teams that might not seem to have a possibility can have a shot at it. And so here in the United States, people really get excited about it.

Now, when you think about the tournament, one word comes to mind for me—and that's the word enthusiasm. People are so excited and so enthusiastic about it, it seems to take over. In fact, during this tournament, it's one of the most often skipped days of work where people stay home and watch the tournament. But that's not the kind of enthusiasm we need.

We need a different kind of enthusiasm, especially if you want to turn that and think about where that word comes from. Did you know the word comes from the Greek, two words—en, theos. That's "in God." And so a right kind of enthusiasm has to be one that comes from God.

Now can you imagine if you took the enthusiasm for a sports event and you turned that around to your life to make something spiritual out of it? That's something that God wants us all to do—especially at the spring time of the year—to be rededicated to living His way. Imagine that—you've got to get off the bench and put into practice God's way.

Are you enthusiastic for God's way? How do you show it? Are you enthusiastic in serving? Finding someone that needs help and making that effort, getting off the bench, getting out there on the court, and doing what's necessary to help and serve and give to others. Just in that one way, you can be a champion in that person's life. So, I think it's something we need to take advantage of.

Let's be enthusiastic for God's way. When you see the tournament on, whether you're a fan or not, you see the sports announcers talk about it, remember "en theos"—enthusiasm for God's way and let's put it to practice in our life. That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
