Is God hard to please? His unconditional love sets the tone.
[Steve Myers] We all know people that are hard to please. It seems some it doesn't matter what you do, it's just not enough. Sometimes we have the tendency to put that type of aspect, that kind of relationship, onto God as our Father. But it's something we should not do.
There's a wonderful passage in Zephaniah 3:17, kind of a little known, little read book, but has some amazing truth in it. Zephaniah 3:17 say this about our God, "The Lord your God, in your midst, the mighty One, will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He'll quiet you with His love. He'll rejoice over you with singing." So if you've ever felt like, "I've got to do so much, and I've got to strive so hard just to please my heavenly Father." Zephaniah says we've kind of got it backwards because God does love us. He does care for us. He has great love for us. It says He's evening singing and rejoicing over us.
So God's love in other words it's telling us is not something we have to earn. In fact, we really can't earn it. And so it's such a reassurance to realize that God loves us, and He has unconditional love toward us. So no matter what, don't ever think of God as one of those that we could never please because He started things right by loving us first.
That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
