Dear Gary, Thanks so much for the best sermon I have ever heard on The Last Great Day. In 1978 God started calling me and your sermon should help anyone understand what a just and loving God we have. Mark Parsons

Mark, This is such wonderful understanding. We know that God loves humanity and the majority will receive salvation.

Linda, Good point. There were no good intentions for the Inquisition. It is true that one of the reasons the Catholic Church was able to motivate people to support the Inquisition was by convincing them they were saving souls from hell by getting them into purgatory. It is difficult for us today to understand the importance of the Catholic doctrine of purgatory in keeping control of both the minds and money of parishioners in the Middle Ages. Like the selling of indulgences, the clergy convinced people they were doing good in order to save others from everlasting hell. This led to all kinds of evil from pilfering people to maintain opulence in Rome, launching the Crusades and the Inquisition. Gary Petty

Thankyou Mr Petty for this sermon. An observation on your comments re: the inquisition. History tells us their motivation was not to save these peoples souls from hellfire but to 1) identify heretics and 2) put fear into the local population and ensure their nations remained catholic. Please dont give this horrific part of history any credit for good intentions. Regards, Linda

Thank you for the explanation of the 2nd resurrection. I have always been a bit confused about it. I am particularly interested in the Deuteronomy reference. I also look forward to meeting many people I never had a chance to meet and many I never said goodbye to. Thanks again!
