To our way of thinking, unless our actions bring about a great change, they are useless. How often have we walked by a piece of paper or rubbish that someone dropped and we ourselves do not bend to pick it up because there is more rubbish to be seen? It seems like an endless task. What we may not notice is that in our inner man, changes take place. We can become careless in many little things as our values slowly change.

Jesus explained that when He observed a person being faithful in something small (like picking up a piece of paper and putting it in the trash bin), He knew that the person would be faithful with larger responsibilities (Luke 19:17). Jesus was looking at what was going on within the mind of the person—not on the little act that took place. For all of us, it is the inner man that we are developing by doing a little.

Wonderful article and so very true! Certainly I do also pay attention to the small things in life. Christ is watching us daily to see how we respect his nature. When we love God so much that every thought is brought into captivity to Christ then we are not going to insult God by discarding trash into His beautiful nature created for us. At the same time we cannot pick up all the garbage we see or we would be just doing this all the time. But to be responsible for what we do with our rubbish is reasonable and expected by God. I especially liked the reference to developing the inner man by doing a little. When God is working with you then you are aware of all things you do at all times in His Holy presence. The last days are near and we must draw closer and closer to God to feel secure and safe in this deadly world. But when you realize God has all control and nothing is out of His control then as long as we obey God we should not be anxious and worry about this life and what will happen to us. We can leave it in God's Hands and know that He loves us and wants the best for us. When we can say, what can man do to me, and not be fearful of men then we are following Christ. With the knowledge that we will rule this earth with Him we stand firm and steadfast with the intention of serving Christ every day. One hour ago Holy Shabbat started and I love praising God and seeking His Will for my life especially during this Holy Time. I bid you farewell and may you stay close to God. Amen
