They control their spending and plan ahead to avoid money troubles. Sometimes the things we think we need are things we can do without. But money troubles often lead to seeking help. We may feel the need to borrow money from the bank or from a friend. An American proverb says, “Before borrowing money from a friend, decide which you need more.” The wise words explain that borrowing money from a friend can lead to losing that friend if the borrower isn’t wise with the money. Friends are hard to come by, and a good one is a treasure.

Money troubles often separate good friends. Proverbs 6:1-5 advises a friend to get out from under the burden of being a surety of security for a friend. Avoid the possibility of losing friends—be wise with your money!
