Proverbs: Humbly Beg Their Favor

1 minute read time

Wisdom that sticks with you - straight from God's Word.

"Evil people will have to bow down to the righteous and humbly beg their favor" (Proverbs 14:19, GNT).

This is a promise from God, but it will take time to be fulfilled. Eventually, it will happen - but much of it will occur after Christ returns, either in the First or Second Resurrections when people will come before the judgment seat of Christ (Romans 14:10).

Our sense of personal injury demands to be repayed in a short length of time when our human nature gets the best of us. But God is just and patient, and as we try to develop godly character, through God's Holy Spirit, to supercede our human nature, we too, need to become just and patient.

Primarily, our focus should be to forgive others and in turn be forgiven ourselves, "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses," (Matthew 6:15).

How are you progressing at forgiving?
