2024 Feast of Tabernacles: Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

2 minutes read time

Around 140 people from all over North America spent the Feast of Tabernacles in Kelowna, in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Around 140 people from all over North America made the Okanagan Valley their setting for the Feast of Tabernacles this year. At its heart, the city of Kelowna served as host for daily church services and for many joyful gatherings of fun and fellowship.

During the Feast, 14 engaging speakers, including seven elders, fed us with rich spiritual knowledge about the many aspects of what is represented in these days. This came in the form of daily sermonettes and sermons, three Bible studies and a very endearing Bible talk session by two of our very respected retired pastors and former Council members, Robert Dick and Robert Berendt. Most of the registered attendees turned out an hour and a half before church on the Sabbath to hear each of them share a personal lesson learned during their service to the Church as an encouragement to everyone to keep up the good fight.

Children enjoyed three fun-filled educational lessons prepared just for them to teach the basic harvest principles that are a part of the feasts. A giant Feast mural project was a major part of their learning plan.

We delighted daily in music—singing hymns, enjoying the children’s choir, a children’s ensemble and many heartfelt solo piano offerings.

We enjoyed many fellowship opportunities, including three catered activities—a meet and greet reception, a seniors’ banquet, and an Eighth Day lunch. Also, many enthusiastic individuals stepped up to take the lead on many area activities—including a wineries tour, golf, bowling, a VR escape room, food bank volunteering, thrift shopping and a family day amusement center outing.

We look forward to reprising this exciting Feast experience in 2025. Please look for it in next year’s festival planning brochure. Then, book early as this location fills up fast.
