Magnified

Magnified is a series of quick, fun, and educational videos on Biblical concepts. And, our name has a couple of meanings.   First, we want this show to be a tool for carefully examining the Bible and revealing the truth inside.   And the second meaning comes from scriptures like Psalm 69:30, which says, “I will magnify God with Thanksgiving.” When we “magnify” our understanding of God, we “magnify” God Himself. Everybody wins! We’re glad you’ve joined us, and we hope Magnified inspires you to do some examination of your own.

God's Role in Politics

Maybe God Put Trump in the White House… but NOT for the Reason You Think

Did God save Donald Trump’s life so he could “Make America Great Again”? Don’t be so sure… God certainly plays a role in American politics (Daniel 2:21), but He’s not an American. He has an agenda all His own, and you’re called to be a part of it.
The last Pope Conspiracy

Could This Be THE LAST POPE Before the END OF THE WORLD?

Pope Francis has died. Soon, the conclave will gather to elect his replacement, but could this Pope be the last? Nostradamus and some key figures of the Catholic church seem to think so, according to a prophecy that predicts how many Popes there will be before the end time. But is there any truth to this “prophecy,” or is it just another conspiracy theory? Come to think of it… what’s the difference?
Some Christians Are *Still* Wrong About Interracial Marriage

Some Christians Are *Still* Wrong About Interracial Marriage

Is God okay with interracial marriage? After all, it’s the 21st century—surely God has kept up with the times… right?
man sinking in anxiety, doubt and depression

Doubt, Anxiety, and Depression: God Doesn't Want You to Ignore Your Bad Feelings

When you commit to God, you will still struggle. It’s natural. It’s normal. And most importantly, it’s going to be an important part of your Christian experience.  Let’s magnify these common feelings in light of God’s message of hope, and look at ways to grow through them.
Can you lose your salvation?

“Once Saved, Always Saved”? Don’t Bet Your Life On It

Is your salvation ever in jeopardy? Some Christians believe in "eternal security," where your salvation is secure no matter what you do. While others believe in "earned salvation," where you purchase your salvation by performing good deeds. This is an ancient debate going back to the beginning of the Christian faith. And, honestly, it should have been over a long time ago. So let’s magnify the Scriptures to understand.
Lent comment and response video thumbnail

“Why WOULDN’T we do what Jesus did?” and More of Your LENT Questions Answered

You wrote some great challenges to our case against Lent and our claim that God shows mercy to those who never knew Him, and we’ve been eager to respond.
Woman with ash cross on forehead, question asking "what's the deal with lent?"

Some Christians DON'T Keep Lent… Why Not?

Something’s not right about Lent. Taken on its own, it seems fine — some of the practices are even great if done in the right spirit — but a closer look reveals a tradition with Scripture-defying symbolism that can lead us away from the Holy Days God Himself commands us to observe.
Are unbelievers in hell?

They NEVER Heard the Gospel—Are They in HELL?

Millions have died without ever hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. But, if the only path to the Kingdom of God is THROUGH that gospel, what hope is there for un-contacted tribal peoples, children who have tragically died far too young, or people born BEFORE Christ? What's their fate? Purgatory? Hell?! Or, maybe this question is evidence that the God of the Bible doesn’t exist… Thankfully, the truth is so much better than any of that.
3 Questions for Better Bible Study Thumbnail

FIX Your BIBLE STUDY With Just 3 Questions

The Bible is full of wisdom — too full. I mean, this isn't just any old book, it's a whole LIBRARY bound up in one single package. So, where do you start? Sometimes you stare, and you squint, and you pray, but that great wisdom that you know you *should* be gleaning just won't come. Well, here are 3 questions to ask yourself to un-complicate your Bible study.
Comment & Response: :Slavery is slavery, no matter ho wmuch you try to sugarcoat it."

“Slavery Is SLAVERY”: We React to Spirited Comments on Our Video About Slavery in the Bible

Why didn’t God just say “Thou shalt not own slaves” in the Bible? We respond to some honest and tough questions posted on our video “Is the Bible Pro-Slavery?” We get into questions like: If slavery is wrong, why are there prescriptions for where to buy slaves for Israelites?; Why are there different rules for how to treat an Israelite slave vs. a non-Israelite slave?; and how our modern concept of slavery differs from ancient slavery.
Bible Interpretation 101

Hermeneutics: Learn to Read the Bible the Way It Was Written

Bad interpretation: it's the reason some Christians have done horrible things AND some have done wonderful things, all while quoting the same scriptures at each other. That’s where hermeneutics comes in. Hermeneutics may sound like an academic theory, but Jesus HIMSELF advocates for this practice of accurate interpretation in Luke 24:27. And, I mean… why WOULDN'T you want to read the Bible the way God intended you to?
Is God Sexist?

Is God Sexist?

Is God anti-woman? Let’s tackle one of the toughest questions about our faith in the God of the Bible, head-on. In this video, we’re diving deep into God’s character, challenging the idea that sexism is a reflection of who He is. Some verses in the Bible do appear to show God favoring men over women, so we’ll explore the bigger question of God’s character. We’ll learn why God isn’t just “good enough” as a Father figure and someone to have a personal relationship with, but the ultimate example of love, equality, and justice for men and women alike.
