This year the weekly Sabbath falls a day before the Feast begins. Many members and ministers will have already left for the Feast of Tabernacles before the weekly Sabbath. As a result, many congregations are canceling services before the Feast on October 8.
The apostle Paul encouraged the Thessalonian congregation to pray for him as he carried out Jesus Christ’s great commission to spread the gospel (Matthew 24:14; 28:19-20). “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you” (2 Thessalonians 3:1, KJV).
