On Friday, March 2, 2012, I was able to witness a remarkable display of God’s power in what is known as a supercell thunderstorm, outside the windows of the ABC lecture hall at the home office of UCGIA. The sky was deep and dark as strong southern winds came blowing in below the strong winds from the west. These two opposing directions gave a momentum in the sky and when an upward draft of wind came in from below the storm, a rotating thunderstorm formed. I was located at the edge of the storm and I found myself in complete admiration of the power that God was exhibiting right before my eyes. I humbly asked God, the Creator of this universe, who sustains and is in command of all, to protect me and all of those who could be affected by this storm.

When the storm passed, many of my fellow classmates and I noticed the moment the light came shining through again and paused to take it in. The once dark and intense sky swiftly became clear, bright and colorful as the sun began to set over the surrounding hills. It was incredible to see the beauty that appeared after a calmed storm.

In Revelation 6:12-14, we find a forecast of an even greater storm that is to come before the return of Jesus Christ. It says: "I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place."

The coming return of Jesus Christ is going to be magnificent and full of His great power—more power than we have ever seen in any storm. When the end of this age comes, God’s divine storm and glory will be revealed to the entire world at one time(Revelation 1:7)! This is a sign of the beginning for the bright future we have in front of us. And when that storm starts to clear we will hear "the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, 'Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!'"
