Prayer Request Update - Fires in Los Angeles Area
From Frank Fish, pastor, Los Angeles and Bakersfield, CA

Here is a summary from our pastor, Frank Fish, regarding the ongoing California fires and their impact:

We humbly ask for your continued prayers during this challenging time. The devastation from the ongoing fires has been overwhelming, but we are deeply grateful to God that there have been no injuries or loss of life within our church families.

Despite the challenges, we were able to gather for services this past Sabbath, which became a powerful moment of unity. Many members shared how God had guided them through the week, helping them support both themselves and their neighbors in meaningful ways.

Here are some specific ways you can pray and support:
• Member Families Impacted: Two families have lost their homes completely, and others are unable to return due to issues with power, water, and air quality. Some families evacuated with only the clothes on their backs and face an uncertain timeline for returning home. Additionally, families that were not evacuated have endured extended power outages, losing all perishable food. Offering both emotional and physical support during this time is critical.
• Immediate Needs: UCG Good Works has provided funds to assist with immediate needs, and financial aid has been directly distributed to affected families. For those who would like to contribute, donations to Good Works are greatly appreciated. We have also received support through LifeNets, and other member contributions.
• Supporting the Broader Community: We've extended support to Rose City Church, where we hold our Sabbath services. Two of their members lost their homes, and approximately 80% of their congregation is displaced.
• Ongoing Efforts: A local team is collaborating to assess and address further needs, including those within other Church of God groups.

We are deeply grateful for your prayers and support, which have been a source of strength and resilience. As Ted and Kim Budge, who lost their home, reminded us: “Even in the face of loss, we trust in God's plan for rebuilding and for this to be a new chapter in His purpose.”

In this time of trial, please continue to pray for God’s protection, guidance, and provision for our church members and the entire community affected by these fires.
