UCG Announcements (2.7.26): Sabbath Services in Buford and Atlanta

Hi friends,

With the inclement winter weather forecasts of the last two weeks, it feels like we’ve not held local Sabbath services for ages. I’m guessing—like you—this Sabbath couldn’t come more quickly. Although many of us have been able to see each other online for our Tuesday Bible studies, being online is not like seeing each other in person (Hebrews 10:24-25). Thankfully, we are back together again tomorrow as God’s people in Buford and Atlanta for services. What a blessing! As we look  forward to these services, here are this week’s announcements.

1. Sabbath Services in Buford and Atlanta. Tomorrow morning, the Buford congregation will meet at the Holiday Inn Express, Bethlehem (Georgia) at 10:30 AM for services. In the afternoon, the Atlanta congregation will meet at Unity Atlanta at 2:30 PM.

Note: Next Sabbath (2/14), we are combined for services in Atlanta. We also have a covered dish meal that day.

2. Under the weather this Sabbath?Tune into our UCG Atlanta Webcast. If you are sick this week, plan to watch the Atlanta webcast online. To view the service, enter the password tree of life (with no spaces) in the channel password box. The URL location is: https://www.ucg.org/congregations/atlanta-ga

3. Young Men's Club of Atlanta: Planning Meeting: 2/7. Attention young men of Atlanta and Buford. A Young Men's Club of Atlanta (YMCA) is being formed to strengthen the bonds among our men in our area, grow as men in the footsteps of Christ, and sharpen one another using God's Word. There will be a “pilot” (brainstorming) session this Sabbath of 2/7 after church to lay out goals and expectations, with the club formally beginning on the Sabbath of 2/21 and continuing on the 3rd Sabbath of the month moving forward. Questions regarding this club may be directed to Ryan Shallenberger or Dr. Aust.

4. Next UCG Atlanta Bible Study: 2/10. Our next UCG Atlanta Bible Study takes place on Tuesday evening, February 10 at 7 PM. Mr. Jerold Aust will review Hebrews 8 and go through Hebrews 9. Below is information to attend the study online:

As I close this evening, I share the following prayer request from Chris and Maria (Moreno) Colman concerning Maria’s mother, Beatriz Buitrago.

Maria, who is presently in Georgia visiting her children, contacted me with news her mother, Beatriz Buitrago, who lives in Colombia, suffered a stroke last evening (2/4) and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. She has been intubated and is being treated and diagnosed. Maria and I ask for prayers from the brethren in Atlanta and Florida for comfort, healing and that God’s will be done regarding Beatriz. Also, that God will guide the physicians as they treat her. Thank you. In Christ’s love, Chris and Maria Colman

Please keep Beatriz, Maria, and Chris in your prayers. Thank you.

In love,

Philip Aust

 Memory Verse

Isaiah 66:1-2 Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist, ”Says the Lord. But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.
