Hi everyone, 

Happy Sabbath! Tomorrow, we are set for Sabbath Services in Atlanta and Buford. In the morning, the Buford congregation meets at the Holiday Inn Express, Bethlehem (Georgia) at 10:30 AM. In the afternoon, the Atlanta congregation meets at Unity Atlanta at 2:30 PM. Here are the rest of our announcements this Sabbath evening.

2. United Church-Wide Fast on May 30. United’s new president, John Elliott, has asked that we participate in a church-wide fast on May 30 before the double Sabbaths of Pentecost weekend. As a recent Home Office Weekly Update offers:

A recent sermon, “Towards Oneness,” identifies a starting point to help reveal and replace basic obstacles to harmonious relationships. Then, through personal Bible study, we can locate vital tools and apply them to remove mental barriers and replace them with arms locked together with one another in unity. This is Christ’s directive to us. It is also our organization’s name.

Our Church ancestors achieved that goal beginning on Pentecost 1,994 years ago. Can we achieve it again in just two short weeks from now at Pentecost 2025? Rapid progress can be made by directing our mind to view everyone like Jesus does, “who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works” (Titus 2:14).

I plan to fast just before the double-Sabbaths of Pentecost weekend. I invite you to also do the same with me on May 30, or at another time more convenient for you. 

I invite you to participate in this church-wide fast on May 30 or a day before this date.

3. Sabbaths Services in Buford and Atlanta on 5/31. We will have separate Sabbath Services in Buford and Atlanta on the Sabbath of 5/31. See the UCG Atlanta and Buford calendars for information regarding locations and times.

4. Feast of Pentecost on 6/1 at 3 PM. Atlanta and Buford combine for services at Unity Atlanta on the Feast of Pentecost on 6/1. Our Holy Day service that day is at 3 PM. We have a covered-dish meal planned after services that day. Please plan to contribute enough food and drink for your family, plus one person. Let’s theme this meal as Feast Day Family Favorites.
