Hi friends,

Happy Sabbath! I write you this week in transit; in other words, I’m on my way to Cincinnati, Ohio for this year’s General Conference of Elders. For that reason, I will keep my comments brief this afternoon and get right to our local announcements. Trusting you are ready to read, let's get to them.

1. Combined Sabbath Service in Atlanta and Buford: 5/2 @ 2 PM. We are combined this week for Sabbath services at Unity Atlanta to view this year’s Sabbath webcast from the General Conference of Elders in Cincinnati, Ohio. Because the service begins at 2 PM, I ask that you are at services and seated by 1:50 PM tomorrow, so you may hear any announcements that need to be made prior to the service.

If you are sick this week and cannot make it to Sabbath services, the service for those unable to attend may be accessed here: http://ucg.org/watch/webcast

2. No Atlanta Bible Study: 5/5. Because of the GCE, there will not be a UCG Atlanta Bible Study this Tuesday evening. Our next Bible study takes place on Tuesday, May 12, at 7 PM. Mr. Jerold Aust will deliver the study that evening on 1 Peter 4.

3. Feast of Tabernacles. All Feast sites are open (unless they have already reached capacity). Please visit http://feast.ucg.org and register for the Feast site you plan to attend if you have not already done so.

Please note, there is a separate link to sign up for a Satellite Site, if you are unable to travel to the closest regular site. If you are unable to attend the Feast in person, please register on the page for Unable to Attend.

Housing Reservations

Each individual Feast website displays a “Housing Info” link for discounted rates. You will also notice that each United States Feast site has a printable “Fact Sheet” available online. Members can easily print these for information tables or share a physical copy with members who don’t have internet access.

Questions can be emailed to Festival@ucg.org or call (970) 484-5878.

4. Combined Sabbath Service, 5/9. We also have a combined Atlanta and Buford Sabbath Service scheduled for May 9. On that day, we will also have our last Sabbath School and Teen Bible Study classes of this year.

5. Upcoming Sabbath and Holy Day Services. Whereas we will be in our individual congregations on 5/16 and 5/23 for Sabbath services, the Feast of Pentecost takes place on 5/24. We will be combined that day for the Holy Day service at Unity Atlanta. Afterward, we will have a covered-dish meal.

6. Next Young Men's Christian Club of Atlanta: 5/16. The next Young Men’s Christian Club is scheduled for May 16 after services in the chapel. Following this club meeting, we will have a summer recess. We will resume YMCC meetings in the fall. Specific questions regarding this club may be directed to Ryan Shallenberger.

7. UYC Camp registration is open! You can apply for camp and find all the needed information at http://ucg.org/members/uyc. This year everyone will need to create new camper (family) accounts and/or new staff accounts since we are using a new system. Once you have created your account, you can sign back into the same dashboard later to add or edit information and to complete required forms after you are accepted. A nice feature of the new system is that you will be able to reuse these same accounts to apply again in future years. All campers in the same family can be added under one family account, but each staff member will need their own individual staff account (for example, a teen who wants to be a camper at one camp and a staff member at another camp would need to use separate accounts for each role).

The application process requires you to upload the applicant’s photo and provide payment information before you can submit an application. You have the option to pay online (preferred), or you can choose an option to mail a check to the home office. If your camper needs a scholarship, you can begin that process by talking to your local pastor. If you have questions or need help, please email: uyc@ucg.org.

Those are our announcements this evening. Here’s hoping this Sabbath is particularly edifying and restoring. Make it a good one!

Warmly,

Memory Verse

Isaiah 8:19-20 And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? 20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
