UCG Announcements (6/27/26): Combined Service in Atlanta
Hi friends,
Happy Sabbath! If you’ve not heard the news, our congregation grew this week by one. Based on a nice photo from the hospital, Ryan and Rachel Shallenberger added a little boy to their family. Teddy joined their family at 3:08 AM this past Wednesday. Whereas mom and son are doing well, the family has asked for prayers that his body temperature regulates better. In the meantime, his doctors have him under a warmer to keep him well. Needless to say, congratulations to the Shallenberger family as they add to the family fold.
I’m guessing we will not see them tomorrow at services. Still, we can look forward to seeing each other in Atlanta. In the meantime, here are this week’s announcements.
1. Combined Services in Atlanta: 6/27. We will combine for services on June 27 and have a covered dish meal. The theme will be "4th of July Fixins." Please sign up this week to help with set-up or take-down and let us know what you plan to bring:

5. Snacks after Sabbath Service on July 4th. We will have a combined service on the Sabbath of July 4th. This is the United States of America’s 250th Anniversary. After services, let’s plan for a special, yet smaller version of Coffee and Fellowship (i.e., in the lobby of Unity Atlanta; not in the Fellowship Hall). Snacks that reflect this nation’s anniversary are encouraged.
As I close, Madison McGarity asks for prayers on behalf of her Mom, DeeAnna Hooper.
DeeAnna is slated to go to Boca Raton, Florida on July 6th and 7th where she will receive an Etanercept shot. The shot delivers an inflammatory drug for Arthritis patients, but people who have had a stroke can also take it with positive effects. The best result is that DeeAnna would, after the shot, have a clear head as well as regain the ability to walk and talk normally. She'd basically be back to normal.
Madison writes this, "We are praying now for the best results. We ask that you do the same, and if it doesn’t work out completely as desired, my Mom gets additional clarity and movement restored. We thank everyone for the support and prayers!"
Please include DeeAnna, Madison, and their family in your prayers as DeeAnna readies for and receives this treatment. Thank you.
With that, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at services in Atlanta. Rest well. Safe travels!
In love,
Philip Aust

Memory Verse
Isaiah 65:20 “No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.” (White Throne Judgment depicted by the 100-Year Period)

Additional Prayer Request from Wendy Englehardt
A recent CT scan revealed that 4-year-old Atticus’s severe sleep apnea is caused by a rare neural tube defect (a nasopharyngeal encephalocele), where the lining of his brain is obstructing his airway. Fortunately, it contains no live brain tissue.
He is scheduled for surgery to repair the defect on June 29th at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. Surgeons hope this procedure will entirely cure his sleep apnea. Postoperative hospitalization is expected to last between one and seven days, depending on any spinal fluid (CSF) leakage.
Prayer Requests:
- That the surgery goes perfectly and is completely curative.
- That any CSF leak is minimal, leading to a short, smooth hospital stay.
- That he experiences no long-term negative consequences.
With gratitude,
Aaron and Autumn Jennings (parents)
Dorene Eckman (great grandmother)
Wendy Englehardt (grand auntie)
Anthea Jennings (auntie)
