UCG Announcements (6/28/25)
Hi friends,
Warm Sabbath greetings! Here’s trusting you and your family are well this Friday evening. We’ve rushed through June, and July sits squarely ahead of us. But before we get there, we have the privilege to keep God’s commanded weekly Sabbath once more. As you settle in for this day of physical rest and spiritual rejuvenation, here are this week’s announcements.
1. Sabbath Services in Buford and Atlanta on 6/28. Tomorrow, the Buford congregation will meet at the Holiday Inn Express, Bethlehem (Georgia) at 10:30 AM for services. In the afternoon, the Atlanta congregation meets at Unity Atlanta at 2:30 PM.
2. Combined Sabbath Service in Atlanta on 7/5. Next week we are schedule for a combined Sabbath service at Unity Atlanta (7/5). The service will begin at 2:30 PM. We will have a covered-dish meal afterward. Our theme is July 4th Summertime Foods. Please plan accordingly. Thank you.
3. Honoring our Graduates: 6/28. As we do each year, tomorrow at Sabbath services in Atlanta we will mark the noteworthy accomplishment of a high school graduation and a college graduation. This year we recognize Jordan Warrington for graduating from high school and Erick Sevila for graduating from Georgia Tech University. Make sure you tell Jordan and Erick job well done! And plan to stay around for the cupcake celebration in the lobby after services.
In the next few weeks, we will also recognize the high school graduation of Karson Morales in Buford. When you have the opportunity, be sure to congratulate him when you see him.
4. Under the weather this week? Tune into the Atlanta Webcast. If you are sick this Sabbath, plan to watch the Atlanta webcast online tomorrow. 5. Hynethia Jones Memorial Service on 7/12 @ 1 PM. We will have a memorial for Hynethia Jones, Granny, on July 12 at 1 PM at Unity Atlanta. In anticipation of the memorial, the family is looking for your fond memories of Granny and the time you spent with her. Please share these memories and tributes with Crystal Thomas this Sabbath or over the next few days by email. You may directly hand Crystal or Scott Thomas a note with a tribute or send them an email at Crystal.thomas.al@gmail.com. Photos with Hynethia are also welcome. If you need to contact Crystal about your tribute, her number is 251-342-4329. Please have this information to Dr. Thomas by Wednesday (7/2) at 12 Noon. Thank you.
6. 2025 Tubing Trip to Ellijay on 6/29. If you are interested in tubing in North Georgia this Sunday, June 29, the information to do so is below. To participate, you must sign up for the activity. You may do so here:

Length of Trip: Approximately 1 hr. to 1.5 hrs. depending on if you are in a tube or kayaking. (Trip is about 1.5 miles long.)

7. 2025 Winter Camp: Registration is Open. Winter Camp is returning to the beautiful Lake Geneva area, offering a fantastic setting for a fun and active winter experience! The camp facility features exciting new activities each year, making it a great place to explore the Zone. This year’s activities include two indoor climbing walls, a full-size gym for volleyball and basketball, and if snow conditions allow snowboarding, skiing and tubing. In addition, there will be broomball, field sports, dance classes, Bible classes, two dances, an escape room, an amazing race, arts and crafts, and team-building activities. The schedule will include plenty of time for socializing.
The core of Winter Camp is built on fellowship, fun and friends, with a foundation of Bible classes and Christian living instruction tailored for our teens. Campers will enjoy building friendships with one another while having a great time at Winter Camp. We’ll also take our oldest campers off-site for an exciting snowboarding adventure, and there will be live performances from campers during the final dance. There is no better way to spend your winter break than at camp with us!
The dates for Winter Camp are Dec. 29, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026
