Pastor Letter - November 29, 2024
Good evening brethren and happy Sabbath!
Recovering
I hope this note finds you recovering well from Thanksgiving. If you’re like me, you stuffed yourself full on Thursday early in the day, and when the evening rolled around, you did it all over again! Funny thing about it thought, I’ll probably do it again next year…
Remembering
As we sat around the Thanksgiving table this year, we took a moment as family to reflect on the things we were thankful for over the last year. From physical to spiritual blessings, we certainly have a lot ot be thankful as a family.
In addition, we spent some time thinking about family members that are no longer with us. It’s a sad aspect of remembering I suppose, but an important one.
As the day wound to a close, we realized we had forgotten to take any pictures. And while this was kind of disappointing, it made me think of another important aspect of human existence.
Experiencing
Even though we don’t have any pictures from Thanksgiving this year, it doesn’t change the value of actually experiencing it. Sometimes, we get so caught up in getting photos of things and recording it, we neglect to actually take it in and enjoy the experience of it actually unfolding.
A lot of time can be spent on remembering the past. And while that has value, don’t forget to take time and experience the things that happen today, so you have something memorable to look back on in the future!
