Letter from Dan Preston – August 14, 2026

No Pin

Greetings all and Happy Sabbath!

That ain’t good…

The other night I went to pick something up, and as I was turning to bend down, I felt something in my lower back. Uh-oh, that ain’t good . . . I thought to myself.

I slowly stood up straight and decided to take it easy the rest of the evening. When I got in bed that night, I wondered if I’d be able to get up the next day, or would my back be so frozen up, I’d hardly be able to move.

Healed?

Fortunately, the pain subsided overnight and the next morning it was fine. Did God perform a mighty miracle and heal me? Or was it just not really that bad in the first place? I’ll probably never know.

One thing I’m confident of, is that in some way, God healed me. It might have just been through the natural process God designed our bodies to do, but in the end, He gets the credit for healing me.

Accepting God’s healing

Accepting God’s healing is easy . . . when it comes when and how we want it. But what about when it’s slower? Or maybe we’re not healed completely the way we thought we’d be? Or maybe we’re not healed at all?

We read of the promise of God’s healing in Psalms 103. So what are we to think when it doesn’t happen right away?

In tomorrow’s message, we’ll dig into the subject of healing and look at how God heals us and how we can learn to accept it no matter what form it might take or when it might come.
