Letter from Dan Preston – August 28, 2026

No Pin

Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath! I hope everyone has a very enjoyable Sabbath rest this week and I look forward to spending the day with the brethren in Hickory tomorrow.

Cool down?

For just a moment, I though we were going to get into a little bit of a fall cool down this week. I went outside one morning and there was the tiniest hint of cool crispness in the air and no sign of humidity. Of course by 9:30, that had all changed. Oh well…

Four more weeks

Whether the weather changes or not, the fall Holy Days are almost here. Four weeks from now we will be starting to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. Are you ready? If so, I’d like to know your secret!

In reality, there’s still time to get ready, assuming you have the big things like registration, housing and airfare (if applicable) taken care of.

But are those aren’t really the big things, are they?

Real prep work

The Feast of Tabernacles is a high water mark for us each year, there’s no doubt. It pictures the coming Kingdom of God and the finish line of our race. But there are critical other steps that must occur beforehand, pictured by the Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement.

All God’s Holy Days picture critical steps in His plan. And while keeping the Feast of Tabernacles requires more physical planning, let’s not forget to be spiritual preparing through prayer and study of each Holy Day and their amazing meanings!
