Letter from Dan Preston – February 14, 2025

No Pin

Good evening brethren and happy Sabbath!  Just a reminder we will have Sabbath School after services in Charlotte tomorrow.

What do you see?

Have you ever seen someone do something that gave you a negative impression of them?  Only to find out later on, someone else heard the same thing, but it left a positive impression on them?

It’s amazing, but sometimes an event can occur, and two people who witnessed it walk away with completely different perceptions.

What do you really know?

Unfortunately, this happens all too often.  We see one action, hear one sentence, and immediately we make a snap judgment.  Whether that judgment is accurate or not, our perception of someone has already formed.

Of course, there’s truth to the saying, “You only get one chance to make a first impression.” Knowing that, we should always be doing our best to make sure when people meet us for the first time, they form a positive perception of us.

What’s your perception?

As Christians, should we even form perceptions? If so, how? Can perceptions change over time, or does that first impression have to be a lasting one?

Tomorrow, we’ll take a close look at what the Bible says about perception and perhaps even form some new ones!
