Letter from Dan Preston – July 31, 2026
Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath! Just a reminder we will have a potluck in all three congregations tomorrow.
The 70 weeks prophecy
How well do you understand the 70 weeks prophecy? Do you know what it is and why it’s important?
Those were a few questions I found myself asking this week as I prepared tomorrow sermon. My aim is to help you be able to answer those questions as well
Fulfilled and pointless?
One reason the 70 weeks prophecy gets overlooked is that many feel that it has already been fulfilled and there’s nothing to gleam from it. Certainly, a major part of it–showing when Christ would come for the first time–has been fulfilled.
However, it doesn’t end there. Perhaps the most well known part beside the reference to the Messiah is its connection to the abomination of desolation, mentioned in Daniel 11:31.
Other questions about
There are many other questions regarding the 70 weeks prophecy? What did it really point to? Is it literally 70 weeks, what does it point to and what is it really about?
In tomorrow’s message (for Charlotte and Hickory–next week in Columbia), we’ll answer these questions, as well as the biggest question of all: Why does the 70 weeks prophecy still matter to you?
