God's Investment in You!

Let me begin with a question: How would God view His investment in you?
God has personally invested in each of us—granting us a measure of His Holy Spirit. I began to reflect on what that truly means by imagining a simple scenario: suppose I gave someone who was struggling financially the funds needed for training and personal development—an opportunity to help them reach their potential. At first, there was enthusiasm and gratitude, but a year later I discovered that nothing had been done. The money had been buried, and the opportunity wasted. Naturally, I would feel disappointed to see that the gift I had entrusted was left unused, producing no growth or change.
That thought made me pause and ask myself a sobering question: Could God ever view me—and His investment of the Holy Spirit in me—in the same way?
It’s a sobering question we should all ask: Is God’s investment in you producing results? Are we reaching our full potential through the power of the Holy Spirit working in us?
Christ illustrated this principle in the parables of the talents (Matthew 25) and the minas (Luke 19). In both accounts, a master entrusts his servants with valuable sums of money—symbolizing the Holy Spirit, along with the abilities and opportunities God entrusts to us.
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.”
— Matthew 25:14–15
The first two servants took what was given to them and doubled it. They were praised for their diligence and told, “Well done, good and faithful servant… I will make you ruler over many things.”
But the third servant did nothing. Out of fear, he hid his talent in the ground. He didn’t lose it—but he also didn’t use it. His master called him wicked and lazy for failing to produce anything with what he had been given.
God has given each of us a priceless gift—His Holy Spirit. It is not meant to be hidden or left unused. We are called to stir it up and let it bear fruit in our lives (2 Timothy 1:6; Galatians 5:22–23). This spiritual growth reflects our maturing toward the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
The Apostle Paul reminds us:
“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.”
— Romans 12:6
So let’s revisit the question: How does God see His investment in you?
Are we growing in grace and knowledge? Are we developing the mind of Christ? Are we using our God-given abilities to serve others—especially within the Body of Christ?
If we ever feel stuck or sense that we’re not growing, let’s ask God to help us identify areas where we can develop or discover new ways to use our abilities to serve others. God responds to that prayer—and when He does, we should humbly seek His help through the Holy Spirit to change, mature, and develop.
God is preparing faithful servants who will one day serve alongside His Son in the coming Kingdom. Let’s not be idle or complacent. Instead, let’s ensure that God’s investment in us is bearing fruit, so that we may one day hear the words we all long fo
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things,
I will make you ruler over many things.
Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
I hope all have a spiritually renewing Sabbath and a rest from daily responsibilities.
