Beyond Today program

From Scott Delamater: The overall profile of viewers of the Beyond Today program has shifted considerably. Today most people don’t watch our Beyond Today program via cable television. The shift has occurred to Apps either on YouTube, or Apple TV, or Roku or other methods of streaming. Over the last few months, the home office has done various trials at different hours and our most carefully analyzed statistics show that a cost per response on cable TV (like Word Network or Faith World) has risen drastically to between $45.86 to $83.71.

After these tests we now have current data from a substantial test period covering multiple presenters, dozens of programs, weekday and weekend inventory, promotional and paid placements, and a wide range of content themes. The results suggest that future growth is more likely to come from improving content, targeting, and digital distribution than from expanding traditional broadcast television purchases.

For that reason, we do not plan to continue paid airtime on broadcast or cable networks from July. The insights gained from the test remain valuable, but the evidence does not support ongoing investment in the channel at current performance levels. But, please note, Beyond Today is not leaving your television screen! The program remains available through our app on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and other connected TV platforms, as well as our YouTube channel. I think many of our members will discover that they have more access than they realize. If you haven’t already, I’d encourage you to download the Beyond Today app on your mobile device. You’ll not only find BT episodes, but ABC classes, sermons, seminars, and other biblical content that benefits our members as well as those beyond our walls.
