Acapulco was not prepared for the sustained 165-mile-an-hour winds of Hurricane Otis, which only hours before had been a tropical storm, quickly gaining strength. As the storm made landfall power and communication systems went down, buildings were damaged or destroyed, and roads were flooded.

We are raising funds to help members whose homes have been affected by this powerful storm.
