Jessica resides in Washington, D.C. where she has taught high school biology for the past six years. She grew up in East Texas and moved to D.C. to earn her B.S. in biology. Her decision to become an educator stems from knowing education is instrumental in opening opportunities and she wanted support adolescents, especially those from high-needs backgrounds. Teaching has been the most satisfying and most draining job she's ever had (granted, it is the only full-time job she's had). When she's not consumed with teaching, Jessica enjoys hiking, biking, and swimming as well as simply sitting and enjoying the moment (or falling asleep much earlier than you'd imagine a 20-something would). Within the next year she plans to travel and live abroad for a few months to improve her Spanish.
