United Youth Corps Project: Summer Camp in Ghana

Good Works and United Youth Corps are co-sponsoring a summer youth camp in Ghana. This project will provide staff members for this summer camp to take place August 13-20, 2017.

This program will benefit the youth of Ghana, as it will connect them with dedicated young adults in God’s church who display an attitude of service and care for others. The Ghanaian young adults who serve as staff will also benefit from the relationships built with the United Youth Corps volunteers. Ultimately, the local congregations will benefit from the lessons each camper brings home with them from camp.

In turn, the United Youth Corps volunteers will gain a deeper understanding into the value of service to others. They will experience the education of international travel, and see how God’s people live in Ghana. They will learn valuable spiritual lessons that can then be shared in their local congregations.

Carl works as an engineer designing waste-water and water treatment projects. He enjoys spending time with his family and serving God’s brethren. Cooking and traveling are also some of his favorite activities, and he has enjoyed having the opportunity to travel to various places around the world for the Feast of Tabernacles. Carl would love to switch careers one day and operate a sustainable organic farm. He attended Ambassador Bible Center in 2001, which he feels helped set him on the right path.

Carl has enjoyed serving and seeing God’s way in action at many camps over the years, and feels that one of the many benefits of camp is the building of positive relationships through shared experiences.
