The return of Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency after unrelenting attempts to silence and destroy him is stunning, some labeling it the greatest comeback ever. But it’s not that—for the truly greatest comeback ever was the return of Jesus Christ from the dead to reign in glory with the Father, lead His followers anew and come again to rule all nations.
At this time of year, we focus on the awesome story of Jesus sacrificing His life’s blood for our sins and His resurrection to lead us out of sin to eternal life with Him. As for the reelection of President Trump, he declared at his inauguration that God saved Him from attempted assassination to make America great again.
There are signs of resurgence, but true national greatness lies not in material increase but transformation that comes through repentance—sorely needed amid compromise on abortion and other immorality.
