Revelation 1:4, 8  "Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come,...who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty"

This is a framing statement in Revelation when talking about Jesus Christ. Notice it first says, "who is".  Christ is placed in the point of view of the present. John, who saw Christ die, dined and talked with Him as a resurrected being and then watched as he ascended to heaven the final time, understood Christ as alive and present...He is. No question in his mind about the nature of the One he called the Word.

John understood all that the Word was in the past. And he understood that Christ is the one to come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This first chapter positions Christ in the readers mind as "the ruler of the kings of the earth".

Christ is. He stands in the future, knowing the full outcome of events on the earth and  waiting to see the response of His followers to His lead within the spiritual body called the church. The major decisions of eternity and the Kingdom of God have been made and they will be explained in the chapters to come. Christ and the Father wait to see if we will read, hear and keep the words written in this prophecy.

It is our choice each day.

Come September

Tony Blankley says we will see clearly by September the direction of the war in Iraq.

Public opinion will likely shape the positions taken by those running now for the presidency.  This long campaign will shape American foreign policy and the conduct of the war. The lives of men and women at war will be determined by this debate. The march of folly continues.
