Europe on Five Dinar A Day?

2 minutes read time

The new year has begun just like last in this one way. Observers are noting the decline of European population and rapid growth of its Muslim citizens. I recently read Mark Steyn's America Alone, which lays out the demographic picture in stark terms. In today's Jerusalem Post Michael Freund writes,

If you ever wanted to see Paris or Rome before you die, but haven't had a chance to do so, you might want to hurry. Soon enough, most of what we now think of as Western Europe will be transformed into a branch of the Muslim world, which is sure to make it an even less welcoming place for Americans, Israelis and for Jews.

His article has the figures of a rapidly declining birth rate in the member countries of the EU. Native Europeans are simply not replacing themselves while the Muslims are, and then some. The consequences will impact the political and social structure in our lifetime.

Readers of World News and Prophecy note that we see Europe having a significant role to play on the world scene in the future. We have written many articles about this and will continue that theme. Bible prophecy tells a different story about a power to arise in the European arena that will surprise the world.

What will trigger Europe from its slumber and decline? Several factors. Consider just one. What if a major terrorist attack hits a European capital taking out thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of lives? To preserve itself Europe's leaders mobilize opinion around a plan to preserve European culture and society. Add in a renewed religious factor, whether motivated by guilt or new found zeal. A people could turn around very fast and move forward to a destiny waiting in the wings.

This article from a past issue of WNP talks about the impact of terrorism on Europe.
